Dear Colleagues,Building on the undisputed and celebrated legacy of the meetings organised by the International Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology, it is a great honour and privilege to announce the 13th Annual Event of our Society, the 2023 ISIN EDUCATIONAL COURSE which will be held in the city of Athens, between the 16th and 18th of the upcoming October 2023.Following the Structure of the Educational Syllabus of our Society, we will be working so as to offer a state of the art series of diverse continuing education courses in the applications of intra and perioperative neurophysiology to the attendees. The event aims to provide participants working in IONM, with a venue in maintaining cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the field, including their implementation. With three courses that will be held annually starting in 2023, we will establish a new platform for young neurosurgeons in training and young attendings in order to expose them early to the concepts of minimally invasive neurosurgery.  The series consists of 3 hands-on dissection courses of which the first one focuses on approaches and procedures to the lumbar spine the second on the cervical spine and the third on the brain and skull base.  The emphasis will be set on essential neurosurgical anatomy and the planning of minimally invasive approaches compared to the standard approaches.  The training will include lectures, virtual reality training, hands-on training on models and dissection training on cadavers.There will be a maximum of 4 participants per cadaver and each table and station will have an instructor available. The Serbian Neurosurgical Society will organise the main celebration and official ceremony on October 31st, 2023. It is our pleasure to welcome you to the third EANS Step II Course in Cranial Surgery. The event will be held from 3-6 November 2023 for the first time in the training center of Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey.This dissection course is most suitable for neurosurgical residents in their final years of training, complementing the Step I cranial course in Brno and the hands-on course in Lyon. The 9th Endoscopic Skull Base Dissection Course will take place from November 6th until the 8th at the Leiden university medical center in the Netherlands. This multi-day course hosted by an international faculty will the basic principles, anatomy, as well as the latest developments of endoscopic skull base surgery. More than 12 hours of fresh-frozen cadaveric dissections provide an excellent opportunity for participants to get hands-on experience and update their knowledge of endoscopic skull base anatomy and approaches. Each of the participant stations will be equipped with high quality endoscopes, tools, neuronavigation, high-speed drills and suction systems to simulate operation room settings. After more than 20 years of experience in using the intraoperative mapping techniques and neurophysiologic intraoperative monitoring for the resection of brain lesions located in supratentorial eloquent areas, we are pleased to offer you a full course which comprises the anatomic and theoretical basis for the implementation of these techniques, some practical sessions (white matter fiber tractography using DTI for intraoperative navigation, fiber dissection and CUSA ultrasonic aspirator usage course both in cadaveric specimens) to finalize with two live broadcast surgeries with the application of the subject taught.It is mainly a practical course which arises from our department experience. We have designed it in the "how I do it" format, with the participation of the corresponding professionals of all the fields implied in the brain mapping process: from the preoperative planning to the surgery, and even the postoperative follow up.
