NET-Lab CHUV, Lausanne, Switzerland — 23–24 October 2026 A two-day, hands-on microsurgical course dedicated to vascular dissection and intracranial bypass techniques, limited to 10 participants to guarantee intensive individual training and direct faculty supervision. Participants progress through a structured skills pathway: knot-tying and anastomosis on synthetic models, then end-to-end, end-to-side and side-to-side anastomoses on dyed-perfused human placenta, with simulation of operative field depth and aneurysm training models. Each stage includes formal evaluation of the anastomosis, allowing participants to measure their own progression across the two days. Short theoretical sessions frame the laboratory work, covering bypass indications and techniques, opening of the Sylvian fissure, and the surgical treatment of intracranial aneurysms, delivered by an international faculty from Switzerland, China, Denmark, France and Italy. The 3rd SANC Symposium on Global Neurosurgery brings together neurosurgeons, trainees, nurses, researchers, and global health professionals to discuss current challenges and opportunities in global neurosurgery. Organized by the Swedish African Neurosurgical Collaboration (SANC) in partnership with the Global and Humanitarian Committee of EANS and Sahlgrenska International Care, the meeting will highlight sustainable partnerships, workforce development, neurosurgical training, ethical challenges, and innovations aimed at improving access to neurosurgical care worldwide. 13th & 14th November - Functional Neurosurgery Course - This 2-day course on Functional Neurosurgery covers both Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and stereotactic lesioning. All aspects of anatomy, patient selection, targeting, surgery, programming, follow up and troubleshooting will be presented by experts and pioneers in the field. Afternoon workshops include 3-D anatomy simulation of basal ganglia, hands-on courses on surgery simulation, target and trajectory planning, and basic programming. Depending on their main field of interest, participants can choose between more advanced planning, DBS programming, or patient selection.
